The federal stimulus package is officially known as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) and was signed into law on February 17, 2009. This broad stimulus package will impact our clients in a variety of ways.

Funding Potentially Available for Our Clients
* $90.9 billion for for K-12 and higher education. Funds must be used to improve student achievement. To receive the money schools have to commit to ARRA guidelines.
* $4 billion for the U.S. Department of Justice to enhance state, local, and tribal law enforcement, including: the hiring of new police officers to combat violence against women and to fight Internet crimes against children.
* $27.5 billion for infrastructure improvements to highways, roads, bridges, bicycle paths and pedestrian walkways.
* $8.8 billion in the form of State Block Grants is designated to help states defray budget cuts.
